During the first months of its mandate, the Staff Committee met all the EUI Units in order to make acquaintances, present its agenda and hear the Staff’s inputs and concerns. The most recurrent points of discussion were the following: discrepancies between grade and job description, blocked careers, internal mobility, safety and security including ergonomics, discrepancies of working conditions with outsourced staff, and internal communication. These issues will be discussed with the management.
These meetings were also the occasion to clarify the different role of the Union and of the Staff Committee, and to explain how the Staff is represented in various committees.
This first initiative to have a continuous dialogue with the Staff will be followed by informal lunches and weekly meetings, not to mention our usual General Assemblies and annual State of the Staff.
